Cultivate Updates - February 2026

CULTIVATE HOUSE UPDATE...

“Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

Hello, Friends! We are so blown away by all that God has done and is doing to provide a "way in the wilderness” for young men who are struggling with housing insecurity while pursuing their education or career training.

The updates to the Cultivate House are almost done! We are moving ever closer to the day when we will be ready for our first residents! Your willingness to support us—whether praying for us, giving financially, donating items, or spreading the word—means more than we can adequately express.

For the next leg of this journey, we need to furnish the house. We have created an Amazon list of our most immediate needs so that you (and those you forward this to) can review the list. While this wish list is a helpful guide, donations do not have to come directly from it. We are happy to accept new or gently used items which correspond to items on this Amazon registry list.  Every contribution—large or small—will help us create a safe and supportive environment for the young men we will serve there. Here is the link:

In addition, we are seeking donations of larger furniture items to complete our space and better serve the boys in our care. If you or your small group are able to assist with furniture donations, or would like more information about our specific needs, Elise would love to connect with you (email - elise@cultivatenext.org).

Some of our current furniture needs include:

  • 2 coffee tables

  • 1 large dining table and chairs to seat 8-10

  • Living room furniture (sofas/chairs)

  • Bedroom furniture for 3 rooms

  • Sofa table

  • 2 Dressers or media stands

  • Lamps

  • Bookshelves

If you choose to purchase or donate an item from either list, please know how deeply thankful we are for your generosity! We also would appreciate it if you would share these lists with anyone who may be interested in supporting our work—friends, family members, businesses, or community groups. (Perhaps your community group would be willing to donate as a group or sponsor a room/resident. :) )

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!...

We are SO grateful to our Board, supporters, friends, and community professionals and partners who have provided so much for the Cultivate House!

AN AMAZING FIRST NIGHT OF THE YEAR...

We love to watch when spiritual eyes come open in a young person… At the first of the year, we invited potential volunteers (visitors who were checking it out and not yet approved by the group home) to join us for chapel night at the local children’s home.

That night, the lesson was on Jesus’ baptism and temptation. We had a beautiful conversation about Jesus, who He is and what He came to do. As each of us discussed what God laid on our hearts to say, we could sense the Spirit moving in one of the girls. She just couldn’t seem to grasp that God loved her. She asked to speak to one of the potential volunteers who had come, and this girl led her to Jesus! What an amazing first night!!

We are grateful to the Caring Communities Foundation for its care for local nonprofits. Each year, it brings professionals together to help nonprofits lead and serve the community better.

While there this year, we were introduced to the executive director of the Healing Bridge Clinic in Peachtree City. He made it possible for a boy we work with to get some much needed medical help.

We are thankful for resources in our community that can assist the emerging adults we serve!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for multiple premarital couples who are facing big challenges in their relationship.

Please pray for a young man who transitioned out of foster care last year and is in an independent living program in downtown Atlanta. Pray specifically for the development of iron-sharpening-iron friendships for him.

Please pray for us as we continue to work through the needed policies, procedures, processes, and strategy for getting the supportive housing program up and going.

Please pray for the young men who will live at the Cultivate House - that they will find value, hope, and healing while they live there.

THANK YOU!

Cultivate is committed to provide most of its services free of charge. This means our ability to continue to do what we do is wholly dependent on God raising up supporters who believe in this ministry and generously support this work financially.

So many of you already support Cultivate through your prayers and financial support. We cherish your continued support and cannot tell you how thankful we are for your partnership. If you aren't yet a Cultivate partner, we ask that you consider joining our support team.
